Travel to L’Estartit
By Air
Girona is the best airport to fly to. This airport is easy to get to from the villa located only 30 minutes drive away. http://gironacatalunya.cat/en/
There Are a large number of car hire companies based at the airport too. Girona Airport is a Ryanair hub and so regular flights are available from most countries throughout Europe. The airport is flagged on the Ryanair website as Barcelona(Girona) www.ryanair.com
By Rail
Journeys by rail are now getting easier with the advent of the French TGV service being extended down to Barcelona on a new high speed track. This means you can relax and travel in luxury direct from Paris to Girona or Figueras in 6 hours twice a day in Summer months. For UK customers the Eurostar service links up with these services in Paris. www.raileurope.co.uk
By Car
This is a popular choice and very easy to get to using the main motorway network though France. For UK travellers take the shuttle or ferry service to Calais and then straight onto the Autoroute all the way. There are a couple of route options but our favourite is as follows:-
A26 toll to Reims
A4/A26 toll to Troyes
A5/A31 toll to Dijon
A6 toll to Lyon (take the route straight though the centre of Lyon continuing on the A6. )
A7 toll to Valence/Orange
A9 Orange toll to Nimes/Montpellier/Beziers/Narbonne to French Border crossing at Le Boulou
Spain Autoroute toll AP7 to Junction 5
Turn onto GI623 towards L’Escala Continue until C31 signposted Torroella de Montgri and bear right onto this road. Continue until Verges(end of big new road and turn left in centre Following signs for Torroella De Montgri. At Torroella De Montgri take large roundabout onto GI641 signposted L’Estartit. Continue over first roundabout the about 2 miles to another large roundabout with a supermarket. Turn left here past Fire Station on left take 2nd left into Santa Caterina Urbanization and the villa is located on the corner Carrer Osona no. 18.
By Bus
Megabus www.megabus.com offer scheduled bus services to Barcelona. However, these journey times are long but are available as an option.
